Current Training Courses Offered

The NWGIA offers several professional, continuing education courses as well as being a major sponsor/organizer for collaboration between Law Enforcement, Probation, Corrections, Prosecutors and others entities in the Criminal Justice community that work in the field of Criminal Street Gangs.

26th Annual NWGIA Training Symposium has been postponed until September 2020!

I am sure you are all aware of the current situation regarding the COVID-19 virus and the prevention guidelines. The Northwest Gang Investigators Association Executive Board and I have made the decision to postpone the Training Symposium until September 2nd-4th,2020.

The wellbeing of the NWGIA membership, and our Symposium attendees is of upmost importance to our team, the Kalispel Tribe and the Northern Quest Resort and Casino. The NWGIA Executive Board and I will continue to monitor the situation and will inform you of any changes as soon as possible.

Please know that while we are going to work with everyone to ensure that our member attendees are taken care of, cooperation and patience are key. We are all unpaid volunteers who run the organization fiscally conservative to ensure we are able to reinvest in the best training available. To that end, one of the things we do, unlike some organizations, is absorb the fees associated with the registration and credit card companies to keep the cost of each registration as low as possible.

If you think that you, or someone else, from your agency can use the registration that is already paid for the September dates, please consider NOT requesting a refund at this time. If people request refunds now, but later decide to attend and pay again, the association will pay fees twice which would significantly impact our non profit budget. Again we will work with each agency but request that everyone seriously considers the immediate need to cancel and ask for a refund.

Options for handling PAID registrations:

1) Do nothing and know that your registration will be moved forward to the new dates.

2) Refund request – this option would be for those agencies that cannot attend in September. If you aren’t sure, please wait until it’s confirmed that the registered attendee cannot attend and no alternates are available.

3) Change in attendee name: No costs associated with sending an alternate. Just need to email the new attendee info and the person they are replacing to:

All registration questions need to be sent to:

Take care and Stay safe

From all of the Staff and Executive Board at the NWGIA, we look forward to providing once again the leading edge training speakers, topics and relevant information to enhance your officer safety, investigations, intelligence operations and general knowledge of criminal gang activity to ensure successful prosecution, public education and prevention and intervention.

We want to thank the Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Resort & Casino. Without them we wouldn’t be able to provide the level of training and scholarships to small agencies. -Brad Richmond & The Executive Board
