COVID-19 2020 Symposium Cancellation Update and Information for the 2021 Symposium

I am sure you are all aware of the current situation regarding the COVID-19 virus and the prevention guidelines. The Northwest Gang Investigators Association Executive Board and I have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Training Symposium for this year. We are planning on an excellent training the week of May 3rd-7th, 2021. See below this update for more information and registration.

The wellbeing of the NWGIA membership, and our Symposium attendees is of upmost importance to our NWGIA team, the Kalispel Tribe and the Northern Quest Resort and Casino. The NWGIA Board and I will continue to monitor the situation and will inform you of any changes as we move forward together through this Pandemic.

Please know that while we are going to work with everyone to ensure that our member attendees are taken care of, cooperation and patience are key. We are all unpaid volunteers who run the organization fiscally conservative to ensure we are able to reinvest in the best training available. To that end, one of the things we do, unlike some organizations, is absorb the fees associated with the registration and credit card companies to keep the cost of each registration as low as possible.

If you think that you, or someone else, from your agency can use the registration that is already paid for the September dates, please consider NOT requesting a refund at this time. If people request refunds now, but later decide to attend and pay again, the association will pay fees twice which would significantly impact our nonprofit budget. Again, we will work with each agency but request that everyone seriously considers the immediate need to cancel and ask for a refund.

Sincerely,
Brad Richmond, President

Every effort and consideration should be made by paid attendees to make the Spring 2021 NWGIA Training Symposium. All registrations will automatically be moved from the 2020 training to the 2021 training without any work needed by the attendee.

If an attendee cannot make it, they can easily transfer their paid registration fees to another person by emailing support2020@nwgia.com and listing the name, rank, agency, email address and phone number of the desired new registrant.

Cancellation with full refunds will be accepted and processed until July 31st, 2020. After that time, any cancellations may incur Eventbrite fees which are non-refundable. Please consider transferring a registration to another attendee rather than cancel if at all possible.

To find out how to request a refund, click on the link below:

Cancellations and refunds will not be processed without following the Eventbrite instructions above. Do not just email NWGIA without first trying to submit the refund request through Eventbrite.

From all of the Staff and Executive Board at the NWGIA, we look forward to providing once again the leading edge training speakers, topics and relevant information to enhance your officer safety, investigations, intelligence operations and general knowledge of criminal gang activity to ensure successful prosecution, public education and prevention and intervention.

We want to thank the Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Resort & Casino. Without them we wouldn’t be able to provide the level of training and scholarships to small agencies. -Brad Richmond & The Executive Board
